Pay it forward and see what happens!

Pay it forward

A little know secret not many people know about is paying it forward. As I reflect this week on my yearly trip out to Belle Glade Florida (one of the poorest cities in Palm Beach County), it is amazing how content people can be with so little. The lives of the people we come in contact with during my missions trip don’t have much, but their children are truly happy kids.

How you run your business, can make a difference. Read on to find out how to make your business blossom (this stuff really works)…

Here are come simple ways you can pay it forward in your own ways:

  • Pay it forward consistently
  • Pay it forward with purpose
  • Pay it forward in your own way

Pay it forward consistently

No matter how much or how little you have, as long as you give freely of your time, your talents, or your money it will return to you in an amazing way. Try to be consistent with whatever you pick to do… There are so many ways to do this: serve in a food kitchen, donate some money to your local charity, mentor some kids through various programs, just to name a few. You will have an amazing experience giving back, and the rewards are endless. Encourage your employees to join you as well, it works wonders for team morale, unity, and positivity.

Pay it forward with purpose

Pick something, and be deliberate with how you pay it forward. Don’t just jump from one thing to another every week. Pick something and stick with it for at least 6 months. Connect the activity with something you are passionate about, and you will align the activity with purpose. When it gets hard, or you become discouraged, this connection to purpose will push you through it. I have seen plenty of examples where people gave up, but it was because they did not “connect” with it. Rally your team around a common goal, and watch them move mountains for you.

Pay it forward in your own way

There is no set formula on how you must pay it forward… Make it your own. You will get more satisfaction knowing that you made a difference in someone’s life. One thing you want to remember… Don’t expect anything in return! You will get a smile every time, but don’t expect something back. People can tell if you are not truly genuine in how or what you are doing. Put your own special spin on something cool, that really makes a difference in the communities where you operate or work.

In Summary

As I prepare today to go out and serve the community for an entire week, I look forward most to the smiles of the kids as they come running up to you. Also seeing the smiling faces when you give people meals, when you know that those meals may be the only thing they have to eat for that day. So join me and pay it forward consistently, with purpose, and in your own way. There is nothing but upside to be gained from doing this.
Can’t wait to see how you apply this in the weeks and months to come.

Until next time,

Joeri
